Why we built it
Most check printing tools now want a monthly fee, a cloud account, or print credits. Writing a few checks a month to vendors and landlords should not need any of that. OwnChecks is one purchase: $50 for your first computer and $25 for each extra one in the same order. Free updates.
What it does
It prints the whole check, MICR line included, on blank check stock or on pre-printed checks. It keeps your accounts, payees and a check register. It imports checks from CSV, QuickBooks Desktop IIF and Quicken QIF files and prints them as a batch. It handles recurring checks, spending reports and a Positive Pay file for your bank. What it is not
It is not a bank and it does not move money. It is not payroll or accounting software. It does not run on a Mac. Your bank decides what checks it accepts, so print a test page with the free trial and check with them before you rely on it.
