Grant
After you pay and receive a license key, you may install and use OwnChecks on the Windows computers that key covers, for as long as you follow this license. $50 for your first computer. Add more for $15 each, up to 10 per buyer (per purchase email). The key from an order activates on the first computer plus the extra computers that order paid for. It does not cover 10 computers unless you paid for that many. The 10-computer total is per purchase email, across all orders. You do not receive ownership of the software. You receive a license to use it. Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). Internet is needed to download and activate once.
Trial
The trial may be installed without payment. Until a license key is activated, checks print with a VOID / TRIAL watermark. The trial is for evaluating the software and for printing a test page to check alignment before you buy. Moving a license to a new computer deactivates the old one. That seat stays on a 7-day cooldown before a different computer can use it.
Updates
Your license includes all future versions of OwnChecks released while we continue to sell the product. We may stop selling or updating it at any time; your installed version keeps working.
That commitment covers versions released while Sekhem Holdings I LLC continues to sell OwnChecks. It is not phone support and it is not a promise of particular features.
Support
Support is by email only, at support@ownchecks.com. There is no free phone support.
Limits on use
You may use the software only on accounts you own or are authorized to sign on. You may not use it to commit fraud, to forge a signature, or to print checks on an account you are not allowed to use. You may move a license to another computer you control by deactivating it on the old computer. That seat stays on a 7-day cooldown before a different computer can use the same key. You may not rent, sell, or sublicense the software. You may not reverse engineer it except where the law does not allow that limit.
Your data stays local
Your checks, payees and register stay on your PC. Nothing is uploaded. It does not upload your account numbers, logo, or signature. You are responsible for backups and for keeping the computer secure. It needs the internet only to download it and to activate your key once. Your check data never leaves your PC. When this computer is online, the app may occasionally check license status. That check sends only the license key and the install ID, at most once every 14 days. If the computer is offline or the check cannot be completed, nothing changes and the installed license keeps working. A refund ends the license.
No bank relationship
The software is not affiliated with any bank. It does not move money and it does not process payments. You must test with your bank before you rely on blank-stock checks. MICR toner is recommended. Bank acceptance is not guaranteed.
Warranty and liability
The software is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, Sekhem Holdings I LLC disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Liability is limited to the amount the customer paid for OwnChecks. Nothing here limits a right that the law says cannot be limited.
Refunds
Refunds within 48 hours of purchase by contacting support@ownchecks.com. After 48 hours, all sales are final. A refund revokes the license key or keys. There is no refund button in the software. Email support, and we issue the refund in Stripe.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, and venue lies in the State of Colorado.
